Jackson Town Square with elk antler arches and Teton Mountains

Welcome to the Town of Jackson, Wyoming

Nestled in the heart of Jackson Hole with the majestic Teton Mountains as our backdrop, the Town of Jackson is Wyoming's premier mountain community and the only incorporated municipality in Teton County. Since our incorporation on August 7, 1914, we've been providing essential services to residents and visitors while preserving the unique character that makes Jackson special.

Your Mountain Community

The Town of Jackson serves as the cultural, civic, and business heart of the Jackson Hole valley. Our community is known worldwide for stunning natural beauty, world-class outdoor recreation, rich Western heritage, and a commitment to quality of life. Whether you're a longtime resident, new to the area, or visiting our beautiful valley, the Town is here to serve you.

Our municipal government provides essential services including public safety through the Jackson Police Department, infrastructure maintenance via Public Works, community planning and development review, parks and recreation programs, and public transportation through the START Bus system. We work collaboratively with Teton County to deliver additional services and ensure our community thrives.

Historic Town Square

At the center of our community sits the iconic Town Square, home to the world-famous elk antler arches that grace all four corners of George Washington Memorial Park. These magnificent structures, built between 1953 and 1969, contain thousands of naturally-shed elk antlers and have become one of the most photographed landmarks in Wyoming. The Town Square serves as a gathering place for community events, art fairs, concerts, and celebrations throughout the year.

Municipal Services

The Town of Jackson is committed to providing efficient, responsive government services to our community. Access information about building permits and development review, apply for business licenses, view Town Council meeting agendas and minutes, utilize START Bus public transportation, and contact town departments for assistance. Our staff of approximately 150 dedicated employees work daily to maintain infrastructure, ensure public safety, and support community well-being.

Community Engagement

We encourage all residents to participate in local government. Town Council meetings are open to the public with opportunities for citizen input on important issues affecting our community. Stay informed about town projects, ordinances, and initiatives by attending meetings, reviewing posted agendas, and engaging with your elected officials. Your voice matters in shaping Jackson's future.
